NYC Mayor Eric Adams tests positive for COVID

New York Mayor Eric Adams has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, according to a report by Fox News.

The publication cited a statement from Adams’ office, which said that other than having a raspy voice, the mayor doesn’t have any other signs or symptoms of the pandemic-related illness.

Adams has put himself into isolation and will be working remotely during his quarantine period, according to the official statement.

“This morning, Mayor Adams woke up with a raspy voice and, out of an abundance of caution, took a PCR test that has now come back positive,” the spokesperson said.

“At this time, the mayor has no other symptoms, but he is already isolating and will be canceling all public events for the remainder of the week.

“He is also going to immediately begin taking the anti-viral medications offered for free to New York City residents and encourages all New Yorkers eligible for these medications to take them as well.”

Adams is just one high-profile figure to announce that he is COVID-positive at the beginning of Easter week.

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper also revealed that he had tested positive for COVID, according to a report by The Hill.

The CNN anchor posted on his Instagram story saying that he “Just tested positive for Covid.”

“Thankfully the kids are negative. Hope to get back to work soon,” he added, referring to his young sons Wyatt Morgan and Sebastian Luke.

The anchor didn’t provide any more details of his particular case, like what symptoms he might have or if he will continue working during quarantine, or if he had been in close contact with any of his fellow famous media personalities.
