New report confirms Kamala Harris was not in the Capitol during January 6th riot

The incursion at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 by former President Donald Trump’s supporters has become the setting for political folklore, including who was there that day. However, new facts reveal that one key Democrat was not even on the grounds.

Federal prosecutors have revealed that Vice President Kamala Harris wasn’t at the Capitol during the incursion despite previous mentions of her in legal documents, the Washington Examiner reported. Harris was the vice president-elect at the time so her whereabouts is secret.

“The government incorrectly stated that Vice President-Elect Harris was present in the U.S. Capitol at the time of the attack,” a recent court filing said. “In fact, Vice President-Elect Harris was not present at that particular time, though she was present earlier in the day and was present later that day.”

Even during the panic that immediately followed the incursion, the Washington Post had reported that “Harris had received an intelligence briefing in the morning and had not returned to the Senate before rioters broke in,” a Jan. 14 article said. “She was kept away from the Capitol until the facility was secured.”

However, indictments related to the incursion had made reference to Harris’s presence there during the attack. The Justice Department has been setting the record straight with new filings that don’t include mention of the vice president.
Democrats have been attempting to parlay the events that day into political attacks against Republicans. The more important people they can place at the scene — including those with intersectional credentials — the more lucrative that endeavor is for them.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) had insinuated she was there during the events and described her terror. “I can tell you that I had a very close encounter where I thought I was going to die,” she said in February, according to Fox News. However, Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t in the Capitol building but instead in another facility on the grounds far from the protestors.
What happened on Jan. 6 was a blight on the American system, but it was by no means the seminal event Democrats are trying to make it out to be. None of the politicians who were there that day were in danger, but that doesn’t stop the left from trying to make it seem like they were — even the ones who weren’t in the building.
