New details emerge in the sexual harassment allegations against Michael Irvin

The Dallas Morning News just published a report revealing new details about the sexual harassment accusations that have been made against former National Football League (NFL) player Michael Irvin.

According to the outlet, it received the new details from a motion that the hotel company Marriott has filed in federal court.

The motion, apparently, contains a full account of the accuser's accusations.

The Dallas Morning News reports:

The account portrays the former Cowboys wide receiver’s actions as a drunken — and at times — aggressive flirtation that included a lewd comment and a statement that he’d return and find her.

The alleged incident, according to the motion, took place on Feb. 5 in the lobby of the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown.

The alleged victim, a staffer at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown, says that she was walking through the lobby's bar area when Irvin "flagged her down."

A conversation then ensued at the start of which Irvin allegedly shook the woman's hand and introduced himself. Irvin then allegedly told the woman that he found her attractive and made unwanted advances.

The court document states:

Irvin also reached out and touched the Victim’s arm during this conversation without her consent, causing her to step back, becoming visibly uncomfortable. Irvin then asked the Victim whether she knew anything about having a "big Black man inside of [her]." Taken aback by Irvin’s comments, the Victim responded that his comments were inappropriate, and she did not wish to discuss it further.

Irvin, though, according to the woman, then attempted to grab her, saying that he was "sorry if he brought up bad memories’ for her." The woman, in response, tried back away from Irvin, but Irvin allegedly "continued to move towards her."

That's when others in the area allegedly discovered what was going on. And, at this point, the document states that Irvin ended the interaction by shaking the woman's hand and stating "that he would come back to find her sometime that week when she was working."

Irvin disputes all of this.

Levi McCathern, Irvin's attorney, put out a statement calling the allegations "total hogwash."

McCathern added:

Marriott’s recently-created account goes against all the eyewitnesses and Michael’s own testimony as well as common sense. We will release the video next week. There is no sexual assault. The fact Marriott is taking the position that it is is an insult to all of the true female victims out there. I was shocked by Marriott’s prior handling of this situation. I am now disgusted and appalled. I wish trial was tomorrow, so Michael could clear his name and get the compensation he deserves for Marriott’s reckless disregard for the truth.

Irvin is now seeking $100 million in damages from Marriott after he was removed from Super Bowl coverage following the woman's initial accusations.
