President Trump set the internet ablaze with health rumors by carefully and slowly walking down the ramp from the podium at the West Point commencement ceremony on Saturday, and rumors that Trump’s enemies would weaponize the event came true almost immediately.
Desperate to shift attention from Democrat nominee Joe Biden’s obvious cognitive decline to achieve their goal, Never-Trumpers have jumped on the footage as proof that President Trump is in the midst of an ongoing health crisis.
Ex-Vice President Joe Biden’s cognitive difficulties are so obvious that even his own supporters had to admit that there’s something wrong — that is, until he clinched the nomination. Now, mainstream media outlets simply ignore the gaffes that have become routine in every public appearance.
Donald Trump — who just turned 74 — carefully descended from the podium at West Point, which The Never Trump Lincoln Project, led by Never Trumpers Rick Wilson and George Conway used as ammunition in an attack ad released on Tuesday.
“Trump is not well,” the narrator claims. The ad’s sponsors admit that they are “not doctors,” but urge that viewers believe them anyway.
“Something’s wrong with Donald Trump. He’s shaky. Weak. Trouble speaking. Trouble walking,” the ad begins, featuring a montage of clips including Trump’s recent steps down the ramp after delivering a speech at West Point.
“So, why aren’t we talking about this? And why isn’t the press covering Trump’s secretive midnight run to Walter Reed Medical Center? Why do so many reporters who cover the White House pretend they can’t see Trump’s decline?” the narrator asks.
“The most powerful office in the world needs more than a weak, unfit, shaky president,” she continues, admitting the Never Trumpers are “not doctors” yet assessing that Trump is “not well.”
“Trump doesn’t have the strength to lead. Nor the character to admit it,” the narrator closes. “We’re not doctors, but we’re not blind. It’s time we talk about this. Trump is not well.”
The deflection is comical at this point. The examples of Joe Biden’s undeniable decline continue to stack up despite Democrats’ best efforts to keep him “in the basement” under the guise of coronavirus concerns.
That’s not speculation, by the way. Top Biden surrogate Terry McAuliffe admitted as much himself in a June meeting with Democrat strategists. “[Biden’s] fine in the basement. Two people see him a day: his two body people. That’s it. Let Trump keep doing what Trump’s doing,” McAuliffe said during the leaked video conference.
