The Trump campaign has been fighting to uncover the fraud and corruption that may have influenced the 2020 presidential election against former Vice President Joe Biden. Now, President Donald Trump has been granted toe opportunity to prove it.
The Trump campaign will have its day in a Nevada court arguing there was sufficient fraud to overturn election results there, the Washington Examiner reported. A judge approved the hearing set for Dec. 3, and the case could become a model for other states’ legal challenges.
The crux of their argument is the allegation that signatures were improperly verified on mail-in ballots. According to the lawsuit, Nevada state law mandated that officials personally verify the signatures of those hundreds of thousands of mail-in ballots cast. Instead, they replaced the human verification process with machines that were plagued with issues.
This year, about half of the votes cast were by mail in the state, making it a significant issue if it’s found to be true. “The biggest thing which is true in all of these states we’re talking about, including in Georgia, where a third of the ballots were cast in the mail, Nevada, half the ballots were cast in the mail, with no legal signature verification, certainly not in Clark County — that is the big treasure trove of illegal balloting in all of these states,” American Conservative Union chairman Matt Schlapp said on Fox News’ “Hannity” Tuesday.
Schlapp said it was the “first time in this whole tragic story of the 2020 presidential election” that Republicans would be allowed to plead their case in court. “So, this is big news — you know, a lot of people in the national media have said, you know, if you have evidence of voter fraud, show it,” Schlapp continued. “Well, we have thousands and thousands of examples of real people in real-life instances of voter illegality. And I just think it’s a great step that we’re going to have a chance to present it. A court if we get a fair hearing. I believe the results in Nevada should be switched.”
Although not impacting as many ballots, other voting irregularities include dead or out-of-state voters casting ballots as well as possible bribery, with some Native Americans promised things like gas gift cards or televisions for their vote. There is even a visually-impaired individual who will give testimony that she was prohibited from voting because someone using her identity already had.
There is some precedent for overturning elections in the state as Clark County officials already had to discard results for a council race due to voting irregularities. “The Clark County Commission just threw out an election that represents almost 1/6 of the total votes cast in Clark County because there were too many ‘discrepancies’ to be sure that that the results in that election can be certain. 153K votes in this election,” Nevada’s Trump campaign co-chair Adam Paul Laxalt tweeted about the news one day prior to the official legal filing Nov. 17 for Trump’s case.

As time progresses, it’s becoming clear that something doesn’t pass the smell test with the 2020 election results. Besides the unprecedented amount of voting by mail, there are too many questionable results in key states. Trump will finally get to have his day in court for Nevada, and a victory could set off a cascade of similar lawsuits that could potentially overturn President-elect Joe Biden’s victory. At the very least, the American people deserve answers.
