In an uncharacteristic encounter with truthful reporting, NBC News this week published a substantial analysis of Hunter Biden’s foreign business entanglements, further exposing the claims made by President Joe Biden that his son never engaged in unethical dealings abroad and never derived income from China.
Not accustomed to revealing the sordid truth about the Bidens, or any other prominent Democrat for that matter, the outlet surprisingly declared, “From 2013 through 2018, Hunter Biden and his company brought in about $11 million via his roles as an attorney and a board member with a Ukrainian firm accused of bribery and his work with a Chinese businessman now accused of fraud.”
The findings came, according to NBC News, from a comprehensive assessment of a copy of Hunter Biden’s computer hard drive and iCloud account, as well as of information released by Republican members of two Senate committees probing the first son’s involvement with questionable foreign firms.
According to the review, “Biden made $5.8 million, more than half his totally earnings from 2013 to 2018, from two deals with Chinese business interests,” a period of time, notably, that for several years coincided with his father’s tenure as vice president in the administration of former President Barack Obama.
The mainstream outlet also noted that the materials that formed the substance of the analysis “don’t show what [Hunter Biden] did to earn millions from his Chinese partners” and therefore “raise questions about national security, business ethics and potential legal exposure” and that they also detail the staggering pace at which Biden spent massive sums on extended stays in luxury hotels and vehicle payments – all on top of the funds his ex-wife said went to pay for drugs, strip clubs, and prostitutes.
NBC News’ recent report once again casts serious doubt on President Biden’s claims that his son never profited from business deals in China, stating exactly that during a 2020 debate with then-President Donald Trump. “My son has not made money in terms of this thing about, what are you talking? China,” he said, as The Hill noted at the time.
Astoundingly, the Biden White House continues to stick to the president’s story, with communications director Kate Bedingfield recently insisting that the aforementioned debate claim was not a lie. “We absolutely stand by the president’s comment,” she said, as the New York Post reported.
“And I would point you to the reporting on this, which referenced statements that we made at the time, that we gave to the Washington Post, who worked on this story. But as you know, I don’t speak for Hunter Biden so there’s not more I can say on that,” Bedingfield added.
Former FBI counterintelligence official Frank Figliuzzi told NBC News that there is a clear national security danger when foreign nations such as China are able to sidle up to folks like the Bidens. “It’s all about access and influence, and if you can compromise someone with both access and influence, that’s even better.” Now that even mainstream outlets appear slightly more willing to expose the corruption that has long been obvious to most, the question is whether accountability will be sought.
