Democratic politicians think they’re above the law. Though they often get that impression from their cronies in the leftist media, they can’t hide from the internet.
The Napa County Department of Corrections has released the mug shot of Paul Pelosi, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, who was arrested for a DUI last month, Breitbart reported. It was discovered that Paul Pelosi, 82, was driving under the influence after he was involved in a collision with another vehicle.
The accident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on May 28. Nobody was injured in the two-car crash, but police say Paul Pelosi would have had to run a stop sign and footage from the scene showed “a busted out fence and downed sign.”
Paul Pelosi was arrested and booked shortly before midnight but was bailed out hours later. He’s been charged with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence.
For weeks following the incident, there was no video of his arrest or mug shot released. Many cried foul, citing the House Speaker’s position of power as the reason for the suppression.
California Highway Patrol refused to release a video of the arrest, but Napa County DOC released the booking photo. “In Napa County, the decision to release or withhold mugshots or booking photos lies with the Napa County Department of Corrections, not the District Attorney’s Office,” a spokesperson for the county said.

“In the days after Mr. Pelosi’s arrest, Napa County followed the Department of Corrections’ policy regarding the release of booking photos and mugshots. Mr. Pelosi received the same treatment under that policy that all individuals released from County Jail receive,” the statement said.
Just because Paul Pelosi is married to the third most powerful politician in the U.S. does not mean he is above the law. Furthermore, the public release of his mug shot is in line with how other criminals in his situation are treated — and that’s how it’s supposed to be.
