Multiple Democrats demand that President Biden not run again in 2024

President Joe Biden was a terrible candidate and an even worse president. Now with the midterms looming, his own party is ready to throw him overboard.

Democratic Minnesota Reps. Dean Phillips and Rep. Angie Craig are urging Biden not to run for re-election in 2024, the Conservative Brief reported. The pair of Congressional Democrats would rather see someone else lead the party.

In a radio interview last week, Phillips was asked whether Biden should run again. “I have respect for Joe Biden,” Phillips began.

“I think he has β€” despite some mistakes and some missteps, despite his age, I think he’s a man of decency, of good principle, of compassion, of empathy, and of strength,” he said. “But to answer your question directly, which I know is quite rare, uh no, I don’t (want Biden as the candidate),” Phillips said.

“I think the country would be well served by a new generation of compelling, well-prepared, dynamic Democrats who step up,” Phillips added. Craig concurred with her fellow Minnesotan.

“I think Dean Phillips and I are in lockstep and alignment with that, and I’m going to do everything in my power as a member of Congress to make sure that we have a new generation of leadership,” she told The MinnPost. Other top Democrats have similarly joined the chorus of those calling for someone — anyone — else but Biden.

Voters have also turned sharply against Biden, including Democrats. According to a USA TODAY/Suffolk University poll Friday, only 39% of all voters approve of the job he’s doing, and 68% want someone else to run on the Democratic ticket in 2024.

Biden is the worst thing to happen to the Democratic Party in decades as he continues to make one blunder after another. However, Republicans have a way of grasping defeat from the jaws of victory, so the GOP should not be celebrating just yet.
