Most Americans oppose Biden's 'Catch & Release' illegal alien program

It should come as zero surprise to anyone paying attention that President Joe Biden's southern border policies are wildly unpopular, and a new poll just happens to prove that.

According to Breitbart, a poll conducted by the Los Angeles Times revealed that a staggering 65% of Americans oppose the Biden administration's "Catch and Release" program, which simply floods U.S. towns and cities with migrants.

The migrants are then told to report back to a court date, sometimes years later. Of course, most of them never do. But in the meantime, the cities and towns are drained of resources as a result.

It's not difficult to see why so many Americans would be against such a ridiculous policy.

"Los Angeles Times/YouGov poll, 65 percent of Americans said Biden's Department of Homeland Security (DHS) ought to be either detaining border crossers and illegal aliens or immediately deporting them to their native countries after they arrive at the United States-Mexico border," Breitbart noted.

Barely two in 10 Americans support the Biden approach to the border situation, which continues to spiral out of control.

Forty-two percent of the 65% who oppose the program believe captured illegal migrants "should be required to wait out their asylum hearings in their native country" instead of being released into U.S. cities.

Only 23% voice the opposite opinion of believing that illegal aliens should be allowed to remain on U.S. soil while they wait for hearings that could take years, given the current backlog, which will only worsen.

A majority of Democratic voters even find the program a disaster, with 53% indicating so, a clear majority. Obviously, the Biden administration has an optics problem based on its poor policymaking decisions.

Breaking the poll down demographically revealed fascinating results concerning the Hispanic community, among other groups.

Breitbart noted:

Notably, nearly 6 in 10 Hispanic Americans said border crossers and illegal aliens should be detained in the U.S. or deported to their native countries while awaiting their hearings. Only 26 percent said they support releasing new arrivals into the United States interior.

Republicans overwhelmingly are against the program, at 89%. Notably, swing voters, a crucial voting block for any politician, especially at the presidential level, also agree in a majority that the program is bad.

Biden's White House is in serious trouble on the border issue. It might have believed early on that it could overcome it, but it's turning into a perpetual nightmare for both the White House and the rest of America.
