Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer just got a nasty shock from the Michigan Supreme Court. It turns out that she’s not above the law.
And her opponent, courageous 77-year-old barber Karl Manke, is reveling in the victory.
The New York Post reports:
A 77-year-old Michigan barber won a legal battle with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer over her coronavirus shutdown orders — in a stinging unanimous decision of the state Supreme Court.
“It is incumbent on the courts to ensure decisions are made according to the rule of law, not hysteria,” Justice David F. Viviano wrote Friday, MLive.com reported.
It was a stunning rebuke for Whitmer, who has taken a hard line on coronavirus shutdowns, while ignoring her own lockdown and social distancing restrictions during recent protests. President Trump has been particularly irked by Whitmer – he frequently criticized her overreaching regulations on Twitter during the last few weeks.
After reopening his barbershop, Manke famously said of Whitmer: “either Jesus comes, they cut my hands off or she resigns.”
For his trouble, he was fined thousands of dollars and relentlessly attacked as reckless on left-wing cable news and Twitter.
Now that Manke has won his case, and liberal commentators are justifying the mass gathering of people for protests, do you think that they’ll apologize to Manke for smearing him?
