Michigan Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer approved tax exemptions for company linked to Chinese Communist Party

Democratic politicians sell out Americans whenever they get the chance. Now a board appointed by Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is doing just that.

The board of the Whitmer-appointed Michigan Strategic Fund has approved tax exemptions and grants totaling some $715 million to a battery manufacturer linked to the Chinese Communist Party, Breitbart reported. This revelation comes as Whitmer fights for reelection.

The 11-member board, who were all appointed by Whitmer, designated the facility as a Renaissance Zone, which allowed for a land grab as well as a cash boon for the CCP. The company, Gotion Inc., is set to open a factory to produce batteries for electric cars.

It's expected to add 2,350 jobs to Michigan's economy over the next ten years. That's a paltry sum considering the facility will effectively operate as an American outpost for communist China.

Whitmer and her ilk have been actively courting the company to bring its business to Michigan. Gotion is run by Chinese billionaire Li Zhen, who also has a cozy relationship with the CCP.

Tudor Dixon, Whitmer's GOP opponent, slammed the governor for her use of taxpayer funds to lure the CCP to Michigan's Big Rapids. "Just like Gretchen Whitmer's sham parents' council filled with donors and liberal activists, this is another echo chamber of Whitmer-appointed allies who will do anything she orders, including supporting foreign entities with deep ties to the Chinese Communist Party," Dixon told Breitbart.

"The bottom line on this deal is that Gretchen Whitmer is using Michigan taxpayers' hard-earned money to line the pockets of a communist-party-tied Chinese Billionaire and prop up his new business venture while choking our own home-grown businesses to death with regulations," she added. "Real Michigan businesses need a partner-investor in Lansing. Not a career politician/lawyer cutting bad deals with their Chinese competition."

Enticing CCP-tied companies to move to Michigan using taxpayer dollars is unconscionable. What's worse is that Whitmer and the Democrats feel entitled to do so as they refuse to cover their tracks.
