Since Michael Cohen ceased working as an attorney to former President Donald Trump and served prison time for a range of crimes, he has worked together with Democrats in their attempts to take down his prior client, but in a recent appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press, the disgraced New Yorker all but admitted complicity in the crimes of which he claims insider knowledge, as Breitbart reports.
During a Sunday interview with program host Chuck Todd, Cohen discussed the ongoing probes of the Trump Organization being conducted by New York Attorney General Letitia James as well as the investigation undertaken by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.
Cohen explained that in his estimation, both reviews of Trump’s business dealings have already revealed sufficient evidence on which indictments could be issued against the former president and possibly also members of his family, including his children.
When Todd inquired as to precisely where things stand with the probes currently and whether charges might be forthcoming in the new year, Cohen replied, “I really try not to talk about it because it’s their investigation, nor do I want to tip off Trump or the Trump Organization’s people about what is actually happening.”
The former Trump lawyer added, “They are going after Donald. They’re going after Don Jr., Eric, Ivanka, a whole slew of individuals, family as well.”
Referencing prior allegations he had made about supposedly questionable valuations claimed by the president’s businesses, Cohen continued, “You know, when you talked about whether or not Donald Trump inflated or deflated his assets, every single word that I had said about that is 100% accurate.”
Cohen emphasized his belief that, based on the evidence he says he has provided investigators thus far, “they could indict Donald Trump tomorrow if they really wanted, and be successful,” and putting the pieces of what Cohen was saying together, Todd then asked, “Do you believe – considering what they’re investigating, are you confident you did help Donald Trump commit crimes?”
To that, Cohen answered, “I can assure you that Donald Trump is guilty of his own crimes. Was I involved in much of the inflation and deflation of his assets? The answer to that is yes.”
Given that, according to Cohen, his prior guilty pleas to a host of offenses will afford him immunity in connection to any future indictments relating to the Trump Organization, that erases neither the strong stench of corruption that surrounds the disgraced former attorney, nor the hypocrisy of his quest for vengeance against the former president and his family.
