“I think she’s intelligent, very likely progressive. [The] Senate Republican minority intends to treat the nominee respectfully. I’m not at all interested, for example, in what someone may have written in her high school yearbook,” McConnell said.

Other Republicans have shared their concerns with President Joe Biden’s nominee, who would be the first black woman on the Supreme Court.
South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham referred to her nomination as a win for the “radical left.”
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz took a more moderate approach, congratulating Jackson while stating he looked forward to evaluating her views during the Senate’s upcoming hearings.
The signs are good so far for Jackson. She has been confirmed twice for previous roles by the Senate. Her support from McConnell also indicates she may win some bipartisan support despite her progressive views.
