McCarthy tells reporters Eric Swalwell is 'compromised' by China

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) has found himself mired in controversy over the past several years, specifically concerning his involvement with a Chinese spy and the strong possibility that communist China has compromised his position in Congress.

According to Breitbart, that's why newly-minted House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told reporters last week that Swalwell has no place on any House committees, especially anything having to do with intelligence or foreign affairs.

McCarthy made crystal clear to the attending reporters that Swalwell is done.

"Let me phrase something very direct to you: if you got the briefing I got from the FBI, you wouldn’t have Swalwell on any committee," the new speaker said.

McCarthy added: "You’re going to tell me that there’s 200 other Democrats that couldn’t fill that slot, but you kept him on it? The only way that they even knew it came forward is when they went to nominate him to the Intel Committee and then the FBI came and told the leadership then, 'He’s got a problem.' And they kept him on. That jeopardized all of us."

McCarthy added: "He cannot get a security clearance in the private sector, so would you like to give him a government clearance??"

Breitbart reminded readers of its exclusive report involving Chinese spy "Feng Feng":

Swalwell was in an intimate sexual relationship with a Chinese spy named Fang Fang. Moreover, Fang Fang also “took part in fundraising activity for Swalwell’s 2014 re-election campaign, according to a Bay Area political operative,” as Axios reported in 2020.

McCarthy tore into Swalwell so badly that some social media users who were watching CNN noticed that the left-leaning network cut away from the press conference.

"CNN cuts away from Speaker McCarthy's press conference when he starts hammering Rep. Swalwell for being allegedly compromised, and Rep. Schiff for repeatedly lying about having evidence of collusion," one Twitter user wrote.

McCarthy took action to remove Swalwell, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from a number of committee positions.

While Republicans probably won't be able to pass any remarkable legislation this time around, they at least have the power of launching investigations in the House now, and a lot of Democrats, including the Biden family, are about to have a very rough year or two ahead from what it looks like.
