Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) plans to introduce legislation to label Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization.
Greene shared her reasons for the move during an interview on Fox News with Tucker Carlson on Monday.

“I think, honestly, America is sick and tired of Antifa,” she began. “Antifa is the ground troops of the Democrat party … They never get prosecuted. That’s because, well we know the truth, it’s the Democrats in control.”
“Well, it’s time to do something about Antifa,” she continued. “That’s why I’m going to introduce legislation to declare Antifa domestic terrorists. Because they need to be taken apart. We need to investigate exactly who they are, who funds them.”

"Six people were arrested over the weekend in connection with a protest-turned-riot in Atlanta, Georgia, which caused property damage including a police car set afire. Although it is not clear if any of the suspects were supporters of antifa, Greene quickly pinned the blame on the network," Newsweek reported.
"In May 2020, former President Donald Trump tweeted that the country would be designating antifa as a 'terrorist organization' amid widespread protests against racism and police brutality following the death of George Floyd. Some of the protests became riots that many on the right blamed on antifa," it added.

The move is an interesting turn of events for the congresswoman. Following Jan. 6, 2021, Greene was among Republicans labeled as extremists by the left.
Now Greene is taking on extremists on the far left, with the recent riot in her home state of Georgia driving the agenda.
Antifa has most notably been operating in Oregon, where ongoing violent protests have damaged locations in downtown Portland, including attacks on police.
Regardless of whether the latest damage in Atlanta is directly related to the loosely-connected movement, the evidence is clear that Antifa is a violent threat to Americans.
Greene's move to label the group as domestic terrorists will put Democrats in a tough situation. They'll either have to agree with Greene or side with Antifa in a decision that will be uncomfortable for the party.
