Marjorie Taylor Greene says Hunter Biden ought to be arrested

U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) says that Hunter Biden ought to be arrested should he return to the U.S. Capitol.

Greene said as much during an exclusive interview with Breitbart News.

Before we get to what Greene had to say, some context is necessary, and the context is that her comments come after Hunter Biden, last week, made an appearance at his own contempt of Congress hearing.

Fox News reports:

Hunter Biden unexpectedly appeared with his attorneys at the House Oversight Committee's meeting Wednesday morning to consider the resolution that, if passed, would set up a full House vote on whether to hold him in contempt of Congress for defying a congressional subpoena as part of the House impeachment inquiry against President Biden.

Hunter Biden was previously subpoenaed to provide closed-door testimony regarding the Biden family business to the House Oversight Committee. Biden, however, refused to show up, violating the subpoena.

It was for this reason that the committee, on Wednesday, held a hearing to determine whether or not to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress, and it was at this hearing that Hunter Biden decided to make an appearance.

Some lawmakers have argued that Hunter Biden ought to have been arrested on the spot.

During the hearing, U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) said:

You are the epitome of white privilege coming in to the oversight committee, spitting in our face, ignoring a congressional subpoena to be deposed. What are you afraid of? You have no balls to come up here. I think that Hunter Biden should be arrested right here, right now. Go straight to jail. Our nation is founded on the rule of law. The law applies equally to everyone, no matter what your last name.

Now, Greene is arguing that Hunter Biden ought to be arrested if he tries to do this sort of thing again.

When asked whether this should happen, Greene said, "I certainly think so."

Greene, during the interview, also revealed that the House sergeant at arms, on Wednesday, actually escorted Hunter Biden into the committee hearing.

"I hate to let you know the sergeant at arms actually escorted him in along with his secret service detail," the congresswoman said.

Hunter Biden's attorney, Abbe Lowell, did address reports after his client's appearance at the committee hearing.

Lowell claimed that Republicans are merely using Hunter Biden "as a surrogate to attack his father."
