Last week, Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell refused to extradite an accused murderer to New York City due to the Democrat-led city's soft-on-crime approach to releasing criminals.
She made it clear in her decision that she would rather the accused murderer, 26-year-old Raad Almansoori, in Arizona so that he stays behind bars instead of running the risk of DA Alvin Bragg letting him loose like he does other violent criminals.
According to Fox News, Mitchell defended her decision to block the extradition, reiterating that she doesn't trust Bragg and NYC prosecutors.
The back-and-forth has set off a firestorm of debate.
During a recent "Fox & Friends" interview with Mitchell, she pointed to the most recent example of Bragg's unwillingness to lock up violent criminals, referencing the illegal migrants who were released after launching a brutal assault on two NYPD officers.

"I'm putting the victims first and making sure that he stays in custody," Mitchell said during the interview.
She added, "And again, this is not casting aspersions on NYPD, but… it was just a couple of weeks ago that some of the illegal immigrants that were in New York City who beat up on police officers were let go."
"They were flipping the camera off as they walked out of jail, and guess where they ended up? Four of them ended up in Maricopa County, and they had to be taken into custody here."
Almansoori is currently wanted in New York for the alleged murder of a sex worker.
Mitchell, pulling zero punches, made it clear that she believes if the accused murderer ends up back in New York, there's too great a risk that he'll be released and able to victimize additional innocent people.
"I don't want that to happen. I don't want this individual getting out and be able to victimize more people," the Arizona attorney said.
Her most recent thoughts on the matter echoed what she said during a press conference last week when she refused the extradition order.
"I know there's been a discussion about New York wanting to extradite this individual and this is not aimed at the New York Police Department at all," Mitchell said at the time. "I know they did a hard job, a good job, but we will not be agreeing to extradition."
