A Pennsylvania man who pleaded guilty for entering the Capitol on Jan. 6 died by suicide on Friday.
Matthew Perna pleaded guilty on Dec. 9 for illegally entering the Capitol building.

“The constant delays in hearings, and postponements dragged out for over a year. Because of this, Matt’s heart broke and his spirit died, and many people are responsible for the pain he endured,” Perna’s obituary reads.
“Matt did not have a hateful bone in his body. He embraced people of all races, income brackets, and beliefs, never once berating anyone for having different views,” it added.
“Matthew Graves, the US Attorney for DC who handles every J6 case, was going to ask for a big sentencing enhancement and seek 57-71 months in jail,” Julie Kelly wrote.

The sad news adds more grief to the already negative events associated with Jan. 6.
