Man charged with attempted murder against Justice Kavanaugh asks his confessions to be thrown out

The man arrested for the attempted murder of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh has asked the judge in his case to throw out a confession he made to police.

The public defender for Nicholas Roske requested the confession to be thrown out as evidence at the trial.

“Nicholas Roske โ€ฆ hereby moves this Honorable Court โ€ฆ to suppress any and all statements, admissions, and confessions (‘statements’) allegedly given by Mr. Roske, whether oral, written, or otherwise recorded, which the government proposes to use as evidence at trial,” lawyer James Wyda said in the court filing.

If approved, the change could make a significant difference in Roske’s trial that could result in his being sentenced to decades behind bars.

Roske reportedly shared the confession to police shortly after his arrest in June.

The judge may not look favorably on the request, but the decision could become the biggest deciding factor regarding the outcome of the case.
