Before his election, President Joe Biden refused to even answer whether he’d add justices to the U.S. Supreme Court. However, the Biden administration is looking to do just that now, putting him at odds with a majority of voters against packing the court.
Rasmussen Reports released survey results Tuesday that showed 55% of likely voters opposed packing the Supreme court, Breitbart reported. Just last week, Democrat-backed legislation proposed adding four justices to the court for a total of 13 on the bench.
It’s likely Democrats want to add justices in order to shift the high court toward a more liberal balance. Currently, 6 of the 9 justices on the court are were appointed by Republicans. Biden’s own appointees would tip the balance to 7-6 in favor of Democrats.
Democrats insist the aim of the legislation is fixing what Republicans have broken. “Expanding the Supreme Court rights the wrongs the Republicans have done to this great Court,” the bill’s co-sponsor Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) said. “Expanding the Supreme Court is equal justice and will ensure equal justice is dispensed to all Americans.”
Republicans see it differently and think the left is trying to “rig” the judicial system. “Packing the court and tearing down the institutions that protect our rights is fundamentally wrong,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said, according to Fox News. He warned it would “destroy judicial independence” if it passed. “They’re trying to rig the game… fix the system,” he said.
Democrats are pushing to upend the country by packing #SCOTUS to cement their radical agenda.
At stake: free speech, religious liberty, the Bill of Rights, & an independent judiciary.
It’s not just Republicans who oppose packing the Court, only 43% of Dem voters support it. pic.twitter.com/pCzErEs7J6

The partisan divide is as wide between voters as it is among Congress. Although the overall majority oppose adding justices, 54% of Democrats support the measure while 77% of Republicans responded that they opposed it. Independents opposed it by the largest share with 58%.
Former President Donald Trump warned America prior to the 2020 presidential election that Biden would pack the court with “radical left” justices if he got in, Forbes reported. Trump weighed in on the recent legislation too, this time with an ax to grind for the court that would not hear some of his challenges to the hotly-contested election results.
It seems the left is positioning itself to take over the country and foist their radical policies on the American people. The election handed them the presidency, the House of Representatives, and the Senate with Vice President Kamala Harris for the tying vote. If they succeed in taking the judiciary, there will be nothing stopping them.
