A Loudoun County parent whose video went viral last year for a speech made at a school board meeting has announced he is running for Congress.
Brandon Michon made the announcement on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Wednesday to run in the 10th District of Virginia.

“We’re going to let parents have their voice back,” Michon said.
“I’m so happy to be jumping in this race, so happy to represent so many people who may not have the same opportunity or be in a position to speak up. We just want to raise the bar,” he added.
Let’s go Brandon!!!!! Excited to #raisethebar in Washington. https://t.co/cXICXD8FD2

In 2021, Michon scolded school board leaders, saying, “The garbage workers who pick up my freaking trash risk their lives every day more than anyone in this school system. Figure it out. It’s not a high bar.”
Michon is running in the district currently held by Democratic Rep. Jennifer Wexton.
The strong momentum following the election of Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin in November could lead to more conservative leaders in the 2022 midterms.
