Democrats seem to have a knack for working against America’s interests in foreign policy. However, what former Secretary of State — and current top Biden administration aide John Kerry may have done to one of America’s allies is unconscionable.
Secret recordings revealed that Kerry told Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif about at least 200 Israeli attacks against the nation’s interests in Syria, according to Breitbart. Zarif said “to his astonishment” that Kerry continued meeting with him even after leaving office.
The recordings were part of “a conversation in March between Mr. Zarif and an economist named Saeed Leylaz.” It was leaked to the Iran International news channel, a British-based, and Saudi-owned network that is at odds with the terrorist government.
Other information contained in the recordings includes Zarif’s take on the killing of terrorist General Qasem Soleimani by the American military. He reportedly said “the United States delivered a major blow to Iran, more damaging than if it had wiped out an entire city in an attack,” according to the New York Times. “But he said some of Mr. Suleimani’s actions also damaged the country.”
Soleimani was head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps who was implicated in a rocket attack that killed a U.S. civilian contractor, the BBC reported. Democrats, including President Joe Biden, were not in favor of taking the terrorist out. The United Nations also did not support the American government’s actions at the time, but it looks like Zarif may have.
Kerry is now in the U.S. special envoy for climate change in the Biden administration. He has denied these claims about sharing information with the Iranians, but the new revelations have some Republicans calling for his resignation while others are openly criticizing Kerry for his perceived betrayal, the Hill reported.
“Kerry, the ‘statesman’ who has been on the wrong side of every major foreign affairs issue since at least the Swift Boats of Vietnam, betrayed his country in borderline-treasonous fashion as Obama’s chief diplomatic,” Newsweek opinion editor Josh Hammer said. He further asserted that the Obama administration appeased and paid off the Iranian regime as well, showing a level of friendliness to the terrorist nation.
“With this latest example of the full depth of leftist anti-Israel zealotry and pro-Iran sycophancy,” Hammer later said, “perhaps liberals will respond next time with less confusion. In the interim, John Kerry has helped solidify his odious legacy as a dunderhead par excellence, at best — and a traitorous anti-Western ideologue, at worst.”
Israel is one of America’s allies which makes sharing special operations information with the Iranian foreign minister borderline treason, according to some. If these reports are right, Kerry has betrayed America and one of its closest allies and has no business being part of the government.
