According to Jonathan Turley, the Washington University Law Professor and well-known political commentator, President Joe Biden's classified documents excuse is legally questionable. 

The background here is that three batches of classified documents have now been found to be improperly in Biden's possession.

The first batch was found at Biden's D.C. "think-tank," the Penn Biden Center. It is claimed that Biden's lawyers discovered the documents - which were from Biden's time as vice president - just before the midterm elections.

Since then, two more batches of confidential documents have been found at Biden's home in Wilmington, Delaware - a home which Biden's embattled son, Hunter Biden, has claimed to own. One of the batches was found in the residence while the other was found in his garage.

Biden has been confronted with the fact that he appears to have just had confidential documents floating around his garage by Fox News's Peter Doocy. Biden told Doocy, "My Corvette is in a locked garage, OK? So, it’s not like they’re sitting out on the street."

Turley has written a piece for Fox News explaining why this narrative is questionable, despite the fact that many of Biden's allies are going around claiming that the president did nothing illegal.

Turley, in the piece, specifically addresses the claim made by Biden's legal team that the documents were "inadvertently misplaced."

Turley persuasively argues that the documents were moved more than once since Biden left office and that, accordingly, Biden must have known about them.

"At some point, some documents were sent to the office and some to the residence and garage," Turley writes. "What explained this division if it was not based on what the then vice president was working on?"

Turley goes on to suggest that, perhaps, Biden may have used these documents for his book and that, if this is the case, "the inadvertent defense is not only shattered but could be cited later as an effort to deceive the public."

Turley then took issue with the timing of everything. Biden has claimed that the matter was addressed urgently once the documents were discovered. But, Turley argues that the facts suggest otherwise.

Turley writes:

[I]t took two days for the archives to notify the Justice Department. It then took seven days after the discovery for the FBI to do a risk assessment. Most notably, after the discovery of classified material in two locations, it was private counsel who discovered the last classified document. That was December 20th.

As Turley suggests, Biden's narrative just doesn't add up.

It's clear that Biden's people are doing everything they can to sweep this scandal under the rug.
