Lap dances in drag at KY high school pep rally prompt investigation

As heated debate continues over whether the LGBTQ+ agenda championed by Democrats has any place in public education, an event took place in Kentucky this week in which male high school students dressed as females were photographed engaged in questionable conduct with teachers and administrators, prompting a probe and official discipline, as the Louisville Courier Journal reports.

Controversy erupted when photos surfaced of a homecoming week pep rally at Hazard High School in which staff and students participated in “Costume Day” and a “Man Pageant,” images of which were posted on the athletic department’s Facebook page.

Among the troubling scenes were those of male students dressed in lingerie and rubbing up against staff that included the school’s principal, students and staff appearing to spank each other, and a group of female students clad in skimpy uniforms emblazoned with the Hooters restaurant logo.

Once parents began raising red flags about what they saw on Facebook, Hazard Independent Schools superintendent Sondra Combs stated that the district “has a traditional of excellence and academics and everything do, but the incident is being investigated and once the investigated is complete, appropriate action will be taken,” according to the Courier Journal.

Subsequent to that declaration, Combs said that punishment had been levied as a result of the incident, but added that she was “not allowed to disclose any further information regarding the specifics of the discipline,” calling the situation a “personnel matter.”

Presumably in particular hot water is school principal Don “Happy” Mobelini, who was among the staffers pictured receiving a lap dance from a student, and notably, this is not the first time he has been under investigation for highly questionable conduct with young people.

As Outkick reported, back in 2008, Mobelini was probed by state authorities after photos emerged of him driving a group of students in his car as they smoked and drank liquor, and he was also investigated that same year after several students were discovered drinking alcohol on the school’s football field right after having been dropped off there by the principal.

Not surprisingly, parents and community members were none too pleased by what they saw of the homecoming festivities on Facebook, with Twitter user @nema displaying photos from the event and wondering, “Um. Exactly what is going on here, y’all? C’mon Hazard. Get it together.”

Sadly, however, the scenes from Hazard may not be all that shocking to anyone who has been watching the far-left takeover of public education over the past several years, and if the heavy-handed focus on LGBTQ+ agenda items and the exposure of kids to sexually explicit material at young ages is not put in check, such displays could soon be par for the course.
