The Kremlin claims that drones attacked in an assassination attempt on Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The attack occurred around 2 a.m. local time Wednesday morning featuring two drones that were destroyed.

"The incident comes just days before Russia’s main Victory Day parade on Red Square, an event which authorities reportedly fear could be disrupted by drone attacks. Independent Russian media reported last week that utility workers have been ordered to patrol the streets of Moscow in search of any bombs or drones ahead of the event," the Daily Beast reported.
"Ukrainian authorities have yet to comment on the purported attack, but have previously denied carrying out attacks on Russian territory," it added.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denied the attack was from his military forces.
"We don’t attack Putin or Moscow. We fight on our territory. ... We don’t have enough, you know, weapons for this," he said.

"Zelenskyy has denied that Kyiv had anything to do with the incident," according to Sky News.
"Some experts have suggested Moscow itself could have created the incident as a false flag operation, intended to boost Russian support for the war," it added.
Putin was not at the Kremlin at the time and Putin does not live at the Kremlin, with the drones ill-equipped to produce major damage.
The act was unlikely a military operation and more likely a personal effort designed to draw attention, though no individual or group has yet been confirmed as connected to the drones. The Russian government claims the drones were destroyed but has not noted details concerning the drones to determine their origin or operators.
The ongoing efforts of Russia attempting to blame Ukraine and the U.S. for the attack continue to stoke tensions between the countries as the nation continues its invasion of Ukraine which has lasted more than a year. The West continues to seek Ukraine's defense and has sanctioned Russia but has not yet seen Putin back down from his war effort.
