Kari Lake takes NBC reporter to task over Trump indictment questions

While Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg's indictment of former President Donald Trump has many Americans extremely upset, his closest supporters, like former Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, are ticked off and fired up.

Lake, during a visit to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate on Tuesday, shortly after he returned from a New York courthouse, was questioned by reporters about her thoughts on the debacle.

She held nothing back as she snapped back at a reporter questioning whether or not the indictment would hurt Trump's 2024 campaign hopes.

"What did you make of today’s proceedings in New York?" Lake was first asked.

"I don’t know if I can say it, it’s just a sh*tshow," Lake replied. That's when the follow-up came, and Lake went all out in explaining why the indictment isn't going to hurt Trump in the slightest.

"No, not at all. Are you kidding? The guy is raising millions of dollars from people who have never donated one penny to politics. They understand and they recognize bullying when they see it."

She added: "A lot of these are mama bears. And they recognize bullying. And some of their kids have been bullied. President Trump has been bullied every damn day since he dared to stand up for We The People."

The former gubernatorial candidate was partly referring to Trump's massive fundraising haul within the first week of the original news that he would be indicted. The former president raised over $10 million, with as much as 25% of the donations reportedly coming from first-time donors, which is a boon for any campaign.

Trump had raised over $4 million in the first 24 hours of the news of his indictment hitting the airwaves.

A number of high-profile Republicans in Congress slammed Bragg's flimsy case against Trump, echoing that they believe it's nothing more than a political witch hunt, and a weak one at that.

"The sham New York indictment of President Donald Trump is one of the clearest examples of extremist Democrats weaponizing government to attack their political opponents. Outrageous," House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) said.

Only time will tell if Trump and his lawyers are able to beat the case, but the odds are definitely in his favor at this point.
