Kanye West predicts that he will eventually be the US president

Ye West, the Grammy Award-winning artist formerly known as Kanye West, sent shockwaves through the Hollywood and political elite establishment on Thursday and Friday with his bombshell interview with Tucker Carlson.

During the interview, West opened up about several controversial topics, first addressing why he chose to wear a "White Lives Matter" shirt, alongside conservative activist Candace Owens, to a Paris fashion show. West revealed that he received threats as a result.

In a few different instances during the interview, which aired over the course of two nights on Tucker Carlson Tonight, West strongly hinted at his political ambitions, and at one point said, without hesitation, that sometime in his lifetime he will be the U.S. president.

West's prediction came after Carlson had asked him about fellow billionaire controversy-generator Elon Musk. West said that if he was the president right, he'd seek Musk's counsel on a daily basis.

"I will eventually be president — in my lifetime," West said. "If I was in office right now, I would be calling Elon every day. I would have him sleep in the White House."

The Washington Examiner noted:

The rapper ran for president in 2020. He was able to get on the ballot in some states, including Florida, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, but only garnered about 60,000 votes out of an estimated total of 160 million, per the BBC. West indicated he plans another run in the next presidential cycle, tweeting, "Kanye 2024."

West also revealed that he was forced to hide his early support for then-candidate Donald Trump, telling Carlson that he was told he would be "killed" if he expressed support for him. West essentially explained that because of his massive, global influence, he was constantly pressured to deliver certain messages and avoid ones like saying anything nice about Trump.

The billionaire designer and rapper certainly swatted down a few hornet's nests during his interview with Carlson, and Big Tech already retaliated on Friday night, restricting and censoring his ultra-popular Instagram page.
