There are relatively few politicians who have mastered the art of rising up the ranks while being absolutely unfit for their jobs. Vice President Kamala Harris is one of the lucky ones.
Harris’s job approval in her home state of California has dropped to an abysmal 35%, the Washington Examiner reported. This is a drop from the 38% approval she had two months ago.
The vice president is polling only slightly better than Republicans, which demonstrates just how terrible she is at her job. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is just behind her with a 28% approval rating in the deep-blue state that overwhelmingly voted for President Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
The poll, conducted by the University of California, Berkely Institute of Government studies in conjunction with the Los Angeles Times, also pegs Harris’s disapproval at 45%. Harris is even struggling in the Bay Area despite having served as San Francisco’s district attorney and launching her political career there.
Normally, Harris would get away with the usual excuses that it’s misogyny or racism keeping her numbers down. However, that doesn’t jibe in a place like California — and particularly the Bay Area — that happens to be the wokest place on the planet.
More likely, California voters of all stripes have been paying attention to Harris’s list of failures. She’s been charged with fixing the border crisis and pushing Biden’s elections law and dropped the ball on both.
She’s also been mocked on social media for her horrendous “word salad” speeches. The most recent blunder added her embarrassing habit of laughing her way through things that aren’t funny.

Harris is a liability to Democrats because she’s objectively and persistently bad at her job. Most times that doesn’t matter to Californians, who will overlook just about anything as long as a politician has the correct political affiliation. That’s why it’s so telling that even The Golden State is fed up with Harris.
