Vice President Kamala Harris has released a new educational video series on YouTube featuring child actors in its first episode.
The “Get Curious with Kamala Harris” series focuses on making space interesting to children, featuring former astronaut Shane Kimbrough from the International Space Station. The children featured in the video appear to be everyday school children, but are actually child actors.
Trevor Bernardino served as one of the actors in the new video. He was not told who the main star was until arriving in Washington, D.C.
“Me, my mom, dad, we were speculating who could be this important that we meet them in D.C. and we get to go on cool trip and film,” Bernardino said, according to KSBW-TV.
“The most exciting part was definitely meeting Vice President Harris. There’s nothing that can top that,” he added.
“The series comes as Harris has continued to face criticism for her perceived inability to connect with many people across the country,” Fox News reported.
The vice president’s video now appears to serve as part of a strategy to change her perception among the American public, offering a new focus on children and education.
