The seemingly endless string of self-inflicted embarrassments for Vice President Kamala Harris continued apace this week at the American Rescue Plan Workforce Development Summit, and though her bizarre word salads are often quite humorous to watch, Fox News contributor Lara Trump warns that the underlying issue they signify is very serious indeed.
As Breitbart noted, on Wednesday, Harris addressed attendees at the aforementioned workforce development event, and though she began on relatively firm footing, it was not long before things went off the rhetorical rails when she said, “[t]ogether, we are expanding access to transportation. It seems like maybe it’s a small issue; it’s a big issue. You need to get to go and need to be able to get where you need to go to do the work and get home.”
Because of Harris’ demonstrated propensity for uttering similarly garbled commentary, Trump expressed alarm during an appearance on Fox & Friends Thursday, warning that the vice president needs to be capable of “picking up [the] slack” from President Joe Biden, but that increasingly does not appear to be the case.
Describing Harris’ speaking style, Trump said, “I feel like parents all across America are very familiar with this sort of thing because I hear this from my kids whenever they have an argument they’re trying to make, or they’re telling me they need something, but they don’t really have any backing to their argument or any foundation.”
“As much as we like to laugh at this and poke fun at it, this is the number two in charge of America,” Trump cautioned,” Trump continued, adding, “[u]nfortunately, not only are we watching it and laughing at it, but leaders all across the world are also seeing this, whether friend or foe, and it’s just a bad look for America all around.”
Indeed, the list of Harris’ meandering moments keeps growing, as was evidenced recently during an interview with CBS News in which she was asked whether Democrats “failed” by not codifying the federal abortion right created by Roe before the holding in that case was reversed by the U.S. Supreme Court.
“I think that, to be very honest with you, I do believe that we should have rightly believed, but we certainly believe that certain issues are just settled. Certain issues are just settled,” Harris bafflingly replied.
Perhaps one of the worst examples of the sort of verbal grasping over which Trump sounded the alarm, however, came back in January when, asked by NBC News’ Craig Melvin about the possible need for a change in COVID strategy, Harris mused, “it’s time for us to do what we have been doing and that time is every day.”
It is indeed alarming that the font of supposed wisdom who produced the above-referenced statements is indeed a heartbeat away from the presidency. Hopefully, her nonsensical proclamations and the gross negligence of Democrat elites in helping elevate her to that role will be top of mind for voters as they make their way to the polls this November and again in 2024.
