Vice President Kamala Harris has been busy with her various pet causes. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem she has the time to address the one big issue she was charged with handling — and instead chooses the further undermine her credibility by flouting the demands of the American people.
Harris was tapped to fix the crisis at the U.S-Mexican border but has yet to visit the region, Breitbart reported. Still, she found time to throw Americans under the bus once again by holding court with a controversial rapper and Black Lives Matter advocate while advocating for a police reform bill.
Dominique Armani Jones, the rapper known as Lil Baby, posted pictures of himself with the vice president at the meeting to his Instagram account. “Big shoutout to @vp for taking the time out her busy day to sit with me an have an open discussion!” he captioned the photo.

The pair met while pushing the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, according to The Hill. Lil Baby was in Washington, D.C. to on the one-year anniversary of Floyd’s death at the hands of Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who was convicted of killing him.
Lil Baby has been closely connected with Floyd’s family. In December, he threw an all-expenses-paid birthday party for Floyd’s daughter Gianna. He’s been an outspoken supporter of Black Lives Matter and has featured a riot scene with him standing atop a police car as part of one of his shows.
While Lil Baby can support whatever cause he chooses, it’s difficult to imagine why Harris would prioritize such a meeting and that legislation over the border crisis she was charged with fixing. Harris was given the task back in March but somehow hasn’t made her way there to see for herself, Fox News reported.
Harris has scheduled trips to Guatemala and Mexico for next month without any indication she’ll be visiting the border. She has mostly expressed a desire to look into the “root causes” of the influx of illegal immigrants at the border, but has made no moves to offer practical solutions to what’s happening on the ground.
“I’d say the vice president, if she’s actually addressing this issue, needs to do both, needs to go to the border, needs to understand the conditions that are being experienced, needs to understand and talk to the men and women of the Border Patrol, she needs to hear firsthand what they’re experiencing, because it’s all interrelated,” Chad Wolf, former acting DHS Secretary, said in April.
Although Harris is capable of supporting many causes at once, her absence at the southern border is indicative of where her priorities lay. Her lack of concern for the influx of migrants and the humanitarian crisis it’s turning into hints that she only cares about political capital and not people.
