Vice President Kamala Harris spoke out against Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas on Friday over his remarks regarding the decision that overturned Roe v. Wade.

Harris made the controversial comments during an event with Illinois Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker in Chicago on Sunday.

"Justice Clarence Thomas said the quiet part out loud," Harris said. "In the Dobbs decision, his piece of it was to say, basically, marriage equality is on the line, contraception is on the line. So see what is happening and what is at play here. See it clearly.

"We've got to hold on to our numbers in the House and the Senate, because without Democratic majorities in Congress, the writing on the wall seems to be pretty clear about what other rights they'll also come after," she continued.

The remarks continue to push views that are not accurate to get votes in November. The court has no plans to rule on same-sex marriage or contraception, but Harris has made it sound like both issues could change overnight if Democrats don't remain in power.

The statement may work for her liberal audience, but isn't the whole story when it comes to what is really at stake in the next election.
