Vice President Kamala Harris announced on Thursday that the Democratic National Committee will make a $25 million investment to fight against conservative legislation to increase voter integrity laws.
The investment will serve as part of the “I Will Vote” campaign the party will focus on as the nation heads toward the 2022 midterm elections.
“This is the fight of our nation’s lifetime,” Harris said during an event at Howard University in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, according to Fox News.

“I want to make clear that this is about all voters…this is not about Democrats or Republicans, this is about Americans,” Harris said.
“We want to help you vote, and we want to help make sure your vote is counted. And that is because our democracy is strongest when everyone participates, and it is weaker…when people are left out.”
Politico noted Harris stating, “We are going to assemble the largest voter protection team we’ve ever had to ensure that all Americans can vote.”

The move certainly escalates the importance of the 2022 midterm elections as both major parties seek to increase power in the House and Senate.
