Vice President Kamala Harris was supposed to make an appearance on ABC’s “The View” Friday. However, a crisis occurred on set that cut her time short.

Co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro, who are both vaccinated, were rushed off the set Friday after testing positive for COVID-19, the Daily Caller reported. Harris was waiting in the wings for her appearance but had to be squeezed in at the end of the program.

“Okay, so, since this is going to be a major news story any minute now, what happened is, Sunny and Ana both apparently tested positive for COVID, no matter how hard we try, breakthrough cases, they’re both vaccinated,” Joy Behar explained about her co-hosts’ sudden exit. Behind the scenes, staff was scrambling to figure out how to give Harris her airtime.

The next 40 minutes of the show were essentially just killing time until they could figure out what to do about Harris. The vice president eventually made her appearance from somewhere else in the building but managed to take a swipe at Border Patrol agents.

And… Kamala Harris joins The View from somewhere else in the building when 9 min left in the hour. Harris wearing a consumer earpiece instead of an IFB. Behar just coughed for the second time on the show. Harris now comparing border patrol agents on horseback to days of slavery.

Harris and others ran with a false narrative that agents on horseback were whipping and trampling migrants. It was based on pictures that made the rounds of social media, though it was clear that Border Patrol agents were carrying reins, not whips.

“Human beings should not be treated that way,” Harris nevertheless said on “The View” when she made her rushed appearance, Fox News reported. “It also invoked images of some of the worst moments of our history, where that kind of behavior has been used against the Indigenous people of our country, it has been used against African Americans during times of slavery.”

The photographer responsible for the images has himself disputed the claims that these were whips. It was widely known that agents don’t carry them anyway, but it was too good of a narrative for Democrats to pass up.

Harris is in charge of the crisis at the southern border, but this is the first time she’s taken an active interest in what happens there. However, instead of offering solutions, she’s using an abject lie to demonize the men and women who are sent there to secure the border.
