Judge grants Trump's request for special master to review FBI raid materials

A federal judge granted former President Donald Trump's request for a special master to review the FBI's seized items from his Florida home, ending the Justice Department's investigative use of the items.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon ruled that a special master will be appointed to review the items regarding claims of attorney-client privilege.

"In addition to being deprived of potentially significant personal documents, which alone creates a real harm, Plaintiff faces an unquantifiable potential harm by way of improper disclosure of sensitive information to the public," Cannon wrote.

The decision follows weeks of legal proceedings by Trump's lawyers since the FBI's highly publicized raid of his Mar-a-Lago home last month.

The new ruling could help slow the left's attempts to attack the president ahead of the midterm elections.

In addition, the legal challenge will likely lead to personal items being removed from the seizure, which would keep further political use of the items taking place at the hands of Trump's political opponents.
