Josh Hawley reveals DHS "concierge service" that quickly releases illegal aliens into the United States

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) exposed a program the Department of Homeland Security is operating as a so-called "concierge service" to quickly release illegal aliens into the U.S., Breitbart reported. Migrants attempting to enter the country can now download an app that gives them an appointment time to show up at the border for quick admittance.

President Joe Biden's DHS added the option to the Customs and Border Protection One mobile app in January. Hawley likened it to a high-end perk rather than a border security strategy.

"I'm going to quote from your own fact sheet," Hawley began in his query of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas during Wednesday's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing. "It allows, and I quote, 'non-citizens without appropriate documents for admission to schedule an appointment to come to the border.'"

"They can now go on their phone and schedule a time to come to the border and then be admitted, and you identified seven separate border points of entry where they could come," Hawley continued. “It’s like a concierge service for illegal immigrants..," he charged.

"So rather than building a wall, Mr. Secretary, you’ve built a Ticketmaster for illegal immigrants," Hawley added. The Missouri Republican then went on to describe the process as allowing immigrants into the country completely unvetted.

Mayorkas chuckled and called Hawley's assessment "a complete mischaracterization of the program." Undeterred, Hawley leaned into his line of questioning by quoting Texas Monthly's report about the app.

'"At no point does the app ask users ‘Are you seeking asylum?' Those arriving for the CBP One appointments are given no interviews and asked no questions about vulnerabilities they listed in the app or about why they’re seeking asylum in the U.S.—they’re simply released into the country on official parole," Hawley quoted from the left-leaning publication's article.

Hawley again likened it to rolling out the red carpet for illegal immigrants whose past is unknown. "Once illegal immigrants go on their phone and reserve their time to come to the border, they use the concierge service that you’ve created for them," Hawley continued to quote.

"When they come, they are given no interviews. They are asked no questions about any vulnerabilities. They are simply released into the country," Hawley continued. "Is that happening?"

Mayorkas again said Hawley was "mistaken" and attempted to give the same answer, contrary to the evidence before him. "What’s confusing is, why anybody would think that an app like this to allow illegal immigrants to literally reserve a time to come to the border and then be ushered in, without an interview, without follow-up, without tracking is stunning," Hawley later concluded.

During his tenure, Mayorkas has overseen record immigration while offering very little to combat it. That has led to many calls for his resignation, Fox News reported.

In fiscal year 2021, there were 1.7 million encounters with Border Patrol. That number nearly doubled to 2.3 million in the fiscal year 2022 and 2023 is on pace to be even more severe.

Just after the new GOP-controlled Congress took over, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy threatened to investigate Mayoraks and called for his resignation. When asked about whether he intended to step down, Mayorkas scoffed at the suggestion. "I do not," he said. "I've got a lot of work to do, and we're going to do it," Mayorkas said.

Biden and his administration are completely uninterested in stopping the steady flow of illegal aliens over the border. To the contrary, they're attempting to streamline the process for them -- and Mayorkas is at the center of it all.
