Joe Biden’s hot mic moment throws into question President’s commitment to decency

President Joe Biden was supposed to be a return to decency in the White House. While there are no more mean tweets, Biden is has revealed he’s no gentleman.

Biden was caught on a hot mic Monday calling Fox News’ Steve Doocy a “stupid son of a bitch,” Breitbart reported. This is not the first time the 79-year-old president has hurled such insults at reporters when he thinks nobody is listening.

Reporters were shouting questions to the president as they were being ushered out of a White House press conference, including Doocy. “Do you think inflation is a political liability in the mid-terms?” he asked Biden.

“It’s a great asset,” he shot back in a low voice but still in front of his live microphone. “More inflation. What a stupid son of a bitch,” he said of Doocy.

This comes on the heels of another incident last week when Biden denigrated a different Fox reporter, according to the Washington Examiner. “Why are you waiting on Putin to make the first move, sir?” the network’s White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich asked, following up on remarks the president had made about the situation in Ukraine.

“What a stupid question,” Biden muttered into a hot mic. It wasn’t a stupid question but rather a clarification of his assertion NATO would not respond to such a “minor incursion” between Russia and Ukraine despite the global implications.

This is the same president who, upon his inauguration, promised, “I’m not joking when I say this: If you’re ever working with me and I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect, talk down to someone, I promise you, I will fire you on the spot — on the spot,” he said, according to the New York Post. These words ring hollow in light of these incidents.

Biden is volatile, vindictive, and mean to those around him and especially to members of the media he doesn’t like. Those who voted for this disaster of a president because they wanted a return to civility were severely duped — and his foul language is the tip of the iceberg.
