Joe Biden's controversial FCC nominee Gigi Sohn withdraws from process

Another day has dawned, and another one of President Joe Biden’s nominees has been forced to withdraw.

According to Breitbart, Gigi Sohn, who was picked by the president to lead the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), withdrew her nomination this week after past anti-police rhetoric resurfaced.

Sohn's quest to land the powerful communications agency went on for 16 months before finally coming to an end this week.

She drew criticism from both Republicans and Democrats over her disgusting past rhetoric.

Because of her activism on white-hot topics like policing in America, Sohn's major hurdle and source of obstruction from both sides of the Senate was her obvious partisanship.

Those same critics argued that the head of the FCC should not be a partisan person.

"The withdrawal of Ms. Sohn’s nomination is a major victory and represents a strong bipartisan agreement that we need a fair and impartial candidate who can receive the support needed for confirmation," Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz said in a statement.

Cruz added: "The FCC is not a place for partisan activists; free speech is too important. Now, it’s time for the Biden administration to put forth a nominee who can be confirmed by the full Senate and is committed to serving as an even-handed and truly independent regulator."

Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) joined Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) in going against Sohn as the FCC head, given her past statements about police officers.

"I’d like to echo concerns raised about the nominee’s positions on matters of importance for law enforcement, both nationally and in Nevada," Rosen said in February during a hearing.

Many on social media indicated that they were thankful that she withdrew her intentions to move forward, claiming she would have likely purposely targeted conservative free speech in such a powerful position. In this day and age, that's not so far-fetched a theory.

It looks like America dodged a seriously disastrous situation with her exit from the process. Thank God.
