President Joe Biden said on Wednesday that oil companies should not use Hurricane Ian to price gouge.
Biden shared the warning during the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health on Thursday.

"I want to add one more warning," Biden began. "That's a warning to the oil and gas industry executives: Do not — let me repeat — do not — do not use this as an excuse to raise gasoline prices or gouge the American people," Biden said.
"The price of oil has stayed relatively low. It kept going down. The price of gas should be going down as well," he added.

While oil price gouging would be bad, Biden's own policies have already been responsible for historically high oil prices.
The hurricane will make matters worse for those in Florida, with companies hopefully not taking advantage of the situation.
