Joe Biden tells tall tale about his 'house fire' loss, later contradicted by the First Lady

President Joe Biden told a tall tale on Wednesday about losing a lot in a house fire, though his account conflicted with details from First Lady Jill Biden.

The president shared the story during his visit to Fort Myers, Florida, to view damage from Hurricane Ian.

"'I know from experience how much — how much anxiety and fear and concern there are in the people,' he said. 'We didn't lose our whole home, but lightning struck and we lost an awful lot of it about 15 years ago,'" The Daily Wire reported.

"Last November, Biden also said that his house had 'burned down' and that first lady Jill Biden had been in the house at the time — but that she had been able to get out safely," it added.

The false story is one of several that have been documented during Biden's presidency, though mainstream media has rarely called out the accounts.

The story also belittled the real loss by many Americans who are rebuilding after one of the nation's most powerful hurricanes to ever make landfall.
