Joe Biden says he will not go to border, claims there are "more important things going on."

President Joe Biden said he will not go to the border despite a massive ongoing crisis because there are "more important things going on," Breitbart reported. The president said this Tuesday as he headed off on a trip to Arizona.

Reporters asked Biden, who was traveling to the border state to tout domestic semiconductor chip manufacturing, why he wouldn't be getting a look at the situation. "Because there are more important things going on," he replied.

The president has been attempting to sideline the issue since his presidency began. In March 2021, he paid lip service to the idea to a group of reporters who asked whether he would be visiting the U.S.-Mexico border.

"At some point, I will," he claimed but never did. Later that year, he at least claimed he "should" do so.

"I've been there before and I haven't — I mean, I know it well," Biden said in October 2021 during a CNN town hall meeting.

"I guess I should go down," he added. "I haven't had a whole hell of a lot of time to get down," he followed up with as an excuse.

However, it's clear that the administration is not at all interested in taking care of this burgeoning problem. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy had invited Biden to see the problem for himself in the border states.

Instead of taking him up on it, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre ridiculed Republicans. "If they truly want to deal with the border, then they would stop doing political stunts and actually work with us on the plan that we have put forward, which they are not," she claimed.

While Biden is too busy dealing with "more important" issues, record-breaking numbers of illegal immigrants are flooding in through the southern border. In October, U.S. Customs and Border Protection set a record with 230,000 encounters at the border in that month alone, Fox News reported.

That figure was an increase of 1.3% from September's report, which was itself a record-breaking month with 227,000 encounters. September also ended the 2022 fiscal year with 2,378,944 migrant encounters, the most ever in a single year.

The Biden administration has attempted to claim that the ebb and flow of migrants is a cyclical pattern. That's only half of the story, as the overall 2021 and 2022 numbers show the surges far outpacing previous ones.

"What is happening today, and I'd like to think it's happening because I'm a nice guy, but it's not – because it's what happens every year," the president claimed in March 2021. It's not that he's a nice guy but rather that he simply doesn't care about the problem.

The figures on Border Patrol encounters don't tell the whole story, however. Some in the agency believe as many as 2,000 migrants per day make it into the country without being caught.

The crisis at the border should be an issue the administration eagerly tackles. Instead, Biden lies about and downplays the problem while laughing at or ignoring those who are showing concern -- even as he's headed to one of the states most impacted.
