Joe Biden mega-donor revealed as visitor to Jeffrey Epstein's private island

The deluge of revelations about the rich and powerful people who socialized with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein over the years shows no signs of abating, and this week news emerged that Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn and a high-dollar Joe Biden donor admitted to having traveled to the billionaire pedophile's private island, Little St. James, as Breitbart reports.

Details of Hoffman's interactions with the controversial figure came via exclusive reporting from the Wall Street Journal, which chronicled a long list of high-status, wealthy individuals from the worlds of politics, finance, and entertainment, who also hobnobbed with the elusive Epstein.

Boasting a personal fortune of $2.1 billion, Hoffman indicated that he last communed with Epstein back in 2015, having invited him to a dinner attended by a number of VIPs from the tech world.

Before that, however, as the Journal notes, Hoffman traveled to Epstein's notorious private island and was also scheduled to be a guest at his Manhattan townhouse.

The purpose of those engagements, according to Hoffman, was to raise money for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology alongside Joi Ito, then the Media Lab director at the school, as Fox News notes.

As Ito recalled, “Reid attended a few fundraising events at my request, including one trip to Little St. James, after I confirmed to Reid that Mr. Epstein had been an approved donor target for MIT in accordance with university rules and regulations.”

Ito expressed remorse about having accepted donations from Epstein following his 2019 arrest, according to the Journal, as did Hoffman, in an email sent to the outlet.

“It gnaws at me that, by lending my association, I helped his reputation and thus delayed justice for his survivors,” said Hoffman.

The prolific source of Biden campaign donations added, “While I relied on MIT's endorsement, ultimately I made the mistake, and I am sorry for my personal judgment.”

Hoffman was far from the only noteworthy name that surfaced in the Journal's review of a trove of documentation that included Epstein's personal schedules.

Biden's Central Intelligence Agency director, William Burns, turned up as having had three meetings in Epstein's book back in 2014, at a time when he was serving as deputy secretary of State in the Barack Obama administration.

Bard College president Leon Botstein also mingled with Epstein and, according to the Journal, a group of young women he brought along to visit the campus.

Noted liberal professor and political activist Noam Chomsky also appeared on Epstein's calendar, having been scheduled to dine at the financier's New York home in 2015.

Perhaps most intriguing to those still attempting to understand how and why Epstein came into his massive fortune and moved in the ultra-powerful circles he did are the meetings he reportedly held with noted Democratic political “fixer” Kathryn Ruemmler, who, though having served as White House counsel during the Obama administration, has also had a history of involvement with the Clinton Foundation and as an attorney for a key witness in the Mueller Russia collusion probe.
