Joe Biden is pushing another round of Covid-19 vaccines

Many people have already had several doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Now President Joe Biden is imploring those same people to get more yet.

Biden urged Americans to take the newly available bivalent shot ahead of the holidays, the Washington Examiner reported. The president made his case as he rolled up his sleeve Tuesday for his fifth jab.

"We have a choice to make," Biden said. "We repeat what happened in the past winters, more infections, more hospitalizations, or loved ones getting sick, even dying from the virus, or can we have a much better winter," he said.

"Virtually every COVID death in America is preventable," Biden went on. He also claimed that "almost everyone who will die from COVID this year will not be up to date on their shots, or they will not have taken Paxlovid," he said of the approved antiviral drug.

Despite previous claims that the pandemic was over, Biden is still shilling for more doses of the vaccines and blaming Republicans for withdrawing COVID-19 funding two and a half years into the pandemic. "We have to keep up the fight together," Biden said.

He addressed his "friends in Congress," who pointed out that "there's really no reason that the government should be paying for it." Like the others before it, the newest shot is made free by the government.

The newest booster contains the original strain of the virus plus the Omicron BA.4/BA.5 subvariants, according to CNN. It became available in September, but uptake has been slow.

Only about 10% of eligible people have received the jab as of last week. Despite the pushy pleas from Biden and public health officials, it seems Americans are just fed up.

The lockdowns and other restrictions that characterized the early pandemic response are under scrutiny renewed scrutiny, with the midterms just weeks away. Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released a statement Tuesday reminding voters what a failure the Democrats have been at doing anything useful during the outbreak.

She wrote that he "promised to 'shut down the virus,' but instead, Biden and Democrats pitted Americans against each other, and forced families to decide between their livelihoods and the left's political agenda," McDaniel wrote. "Voters won't forget how Democrats closed schools, shut down businesses, and forced mandates on families."

It seems people have moved on from the pandemic and are beginning to rethink the wisdom of school shutdowns and vaccine mandates. Just this week, employees fired under New York City's vaccine mandate were ordered reinstated with back pay, ABC News reported.

Americans are ready to move on with their lives without another jab. Unfortunately, Biden and his ilk didn't get that message.
