Joe Biden complains about lack of oil drilling in stunning twist

President Joe Biden complained that oil companies were not drilling enough, despite his efforts to end the use of fossil fuels in the U.S.

Biden shared the remarks during a New Mexico campaign stop for Democrats in the state.

The complaint

"We haven't slowed them down at all, they should be drilling more than they're doing now," Biden said.

"If they were drilling more we'd have more relief at the pump," he added.

Biden's past

Biden ran on a platform to reduce oil drilling and end subsidies for oil and gas.

"No more subsidies for the fossil fuel industry. No more drilling including offshore. No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill period. It ends."

The latest twist comes as Biden's party faces the ballot box for the first time after his administration has led the nation to record-level gas prices.

Democrats have also led the nation toward the highest inflation in 40 years, becoming the number one issue for voters.

Whether Biden was confused in what he said or not, it won't be long before voters strike back at his party for the damage that has already been done to the nation's families and economy since he has entered office.
