Joe Biden blaming low-level staff for classified documents scandal

President Joe Biden blamed low-level staff for his classified documents scandal, Breitbart reported. Three stashes of these documents have now been recovered from Biden's Wilmington, Delaware, home and an office he previously occupied at the Penn Biden Center.

Biden was interviewed on the PBS NewsHour Wednesday, the day after his State of the Union address. "One of the things that happened is that what was not done well is, as they packed up my offices to move them, they didn’t do the kind of job that should have been done to go thoroughly through every single piece of literature that’s there," the president explained.

"To the best of my knowledge, the kind of things they picked up are things, they’re from 1974, stray papers," Biden said. He has been in public office since being elected Senator in 1972 and perhaps has been careless with America's secrets since then.

"There may be something else. I don’t know," Biden added.

The president claimed he had urged the FBI to "come and look and spend hours searching my home. I invited them," he insisted.

Blaming subordinates for this scandal is not new, but the target has recently changed. Current and previous administration officials said the National Archives had dropped the ball after classified documents were found in separate locations.

The first stash to be reported came from the Penn Biden Center at the University of Pennsylvania, where Biden had an office following his time as vice president. Two more batches were found at his home, including a set in his garage.

"All but one of these documents were found in storage space in the President’s Wilmington residence garage," Biden's special counsel Richard Sauber said. "One document consisting of one page was discovered among stored materials in an adjacent room."

The use of his garage to warehouse classified documents was troubling enough, but Biden's excuse for it was worse. The president attempted to quell fears by stating that the documents were in a garage next to his classic 1967 Chevrolet Corvette, the New York Post reported.

"My Corvette is in a locked garage, OK?" Biden told Fox News reporter Peter Doocy. "So it’s not like they’re sitting out on the street," he added.

Still, the most disturbing fact to come to light is that the president's son, Hunter Biden, would have had easy access to the documents containing national secrets. Photos from the younger Biden's infamous abandoned laptop show him driving the convertible kept where the documents were found.

Hunter Biden has a checkered past and was struggling with drug addiction while living at the residence. He would have had access to the documents and potentially the motivation to sell them off to the highest bidder, though no accusations to the effect have been made.

Instead of admitting to mishandling the documents, Joe Biden is making sure someone else takes the blame. The people who packed up his boxes, no doubt low-level staffers, are being hung out to dry for his gross negligence.

This is in contrast to the adage former President Harry S. Truman was fond of, "the buck stops here." Instead, President Biden is attempting to pass the buck to whoever will take the heat off of him -- and that's utterly shameful.
