Joe Biden-appointed judge blocks "assault weapon" ban in Colorado county

A federal judge blocked an "assault weapon" ban in a Colorado county in a major win for Second Amendment advocates.

U.S. District Judge Charlotte Sweeney, appointed by President Joe Biden, issued the temporary restraining order in a Tuesday ruling in Boulder County.

"The TRO order marks the second indication of early success for gun rights advocates in the state since the Supreme Court handed down its landmark gun carry decision in June," the Reload reported.

"Last month, an Obama-appointed District Court judge issued a TRO against the Town of Superior to block it from enforcing a similar ban following a lawsuit from the Rocky Mountain Gun Owners (RMGO)," it added.

The ban remains temporary for now. The enforcement will end for 14 days as both parties prepare their cases. A permanent injunction could then be considered.

The law is one among many against Second Amendment rights being challenged across the nation. As gun control advocates push for limitations, judges continue to rule in favor of the Constitution to protect the nation's gun owners.
