Joe Biden announces "major press conference" that was actually MSNBC interview in massive communication failure

President Joe Biden announced a "major press conference" Friday that was actually an MSNBC interview, the Daily Caller reported. This sent the White House into a panic to clear up the confusion.

Biden was eager to avoid questions from reporters after his remarks Friday. He erroneously told them he would have to answer their questions later that day even though there was no news conference on his public schedule, the New York Post reported.

"We’ve got a lot of work to do and I’m doing a major press conference this afternoon," Biden told reporters. "So I love you all, but I’d like to ask you to leave so we can get down to business."

The president was meeting with his cabinet secretaries before heading to lunch at a Washington, D.C., taqueria in honor of Cinco de Mayo. As Biden went on with the rest of his day, a White House spokesperson was left to set the record straight.

They said Biden was actually referring to an interview he was scheduled to do with Stephanie Ruhle that later aired on MSNBC's "11th Hour" at 10 p.m. Friday. In that interview, Biden deflected blame for his lousy poll numbers, Fox News reported.

Despite help from the legacy media, which has never asked Biden a tough question, the president's poll numbers have been in decline. It began with the stunningly botched pullout from Afghanistan in August 2021 and has continued with his RealClearPolitics average in recent weeks hovering at 43%.

"All they've heard is negative news for three years. Everything is negative," Biden told Ruhle when asked about why he was so unpopular.

"I'm not being critical of the press, but you turn on the television — the only way you're gonna get a hit is if there's something negative, you know. You don't — anyway, that's number one," Biden said.

"But number two, I think we're in a situation where you have much of what we were able to do is going to come into play now," he continued. "For example, I met today — I set up what they call a ‘second Cabinet’ within my Cabinet. I have an enforcement group," Biden explained.

"They're the ones going out making sure that we're getting the roads built, the highways build, and getting the lead pipes out of every neighborhood so people aren't dying or getting very sick. They're the ones who are making sure that people begin to know what's happened and what's happening," Biden claimed.

"It's gonna take time to get this done," the president continued. "Unless we can make it clear to the American people what it is that we've actually done — it's one thing to say we're going to rebuild this bridge that is in the process of collapsing, [it's] other things to actually get it built, get it built, and that's all just starting."

Ruhle went on to ask the 80-year-old president why voters should trust him enough to pull the lever for him in 2024. "Because I have acquired a hell of a lot of wisdom," Biden told her.

"And I know more than the vast majority of people. I'm more experienced than anybody has ever run for the office and I think I've proven myself to be honorable as well as also effective."

He certainly has decades of experience as a professional politician. However, the fact that Biden can't differentiate between a news conference and an interview negates his entire premise for seeking reelection.
