Jean-Pierre panics when reporter calls her out for potential Hatch Act violations

If you want to know if Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is still a thing, just mention the name "Donald Trump" in the White House press briefing room, and you'll quickly find the answer is a resounding "yes."

Given that former President Donald Trump is an official 2024 White House contender, with strong polling numbers that outshine President Joe Biden's, reporters naturally want to know White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre's take on what Trump has said about Biden as of late.

The struggling, ineffective, and downright embarrassing press secretary struggled to answer a barrage of questions from reporters, especially when they asked if she felt she was in violation of the Hatch Act.

"MUST WATCH: Reporters argue with Karine Jean-Pierre as she attempts to dodge questions about whether or not her rants about Trump violate the Hatch Act," Tim Young tweeted.

There were multiple exchanges as Jean-Pierre stumbled on her words over and over again, clearly outmatched by the questions coming at her.

"But, you know — but Donald Trump is the frontrunner at the moment — clear frontrunner of the Republican Party. He is — he is — he wants to be President, and he’s the frontrunner of his party (inaudible). This is somebody that President Biden has described as, you know, a danger — literally a danger to the country, and his movement, an existential threat to democracy, et cetera," on reporter said.

The reporter added, "So, candidate or not, is President — current President Biden — is — is he following the words and actions of Donald Trump on a fairly regular basis, considering he’s a danger, in his view?"

At that moment, Jean-Pierre knew she was in over her head, at least to the casual observer.

So, look, I appreciate the question, Sebastian. As you just laid out yourself, he is a candidate for 2024. And you’re specifically talking about a result or — or what could potentially happening in that — happen in that race. And I’m just not going to speak to it," she said.

The reporter eventually asked, "Why have you been willing to talk about President Trump before? And have you — were you in violation of the Hatch Act —?

"Absolutely not," Jean-Pierre responded while talking in circles to get out of the situation as quickly as possible.

Honestly, it's stunning that Jean-Pierre still holds one of the most important jobs in the White House, as she continually proves that she does not have the skill or wit required to handle the position, unlike her predecessor, Jen Psaki, who was annoying, but several orders of magnitude more qualified as a president's spokesperson.

This will be a painful lesson in diversity hiring gone wrong for the Biden administration, that's for sure.
