Former President Donald Trump and his administration were tough on America’s adversaries. Although that’s a good thing for the nation, it could imperil at least one former official.
Iran has made threats to assassinate former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Fox News reported. One of those threats originated from Zainab Soleimani, daughter of Qassem Soleimani, the Iranian military offer killed during Pompeo’s tenure.
Zainab Soleimani tweeted that Pompeo, who now works as a Fox News contributor, “whines about Iran on Saudi TV. Home of 9/11 plotters,” she wrote.
“Live in fear liar,” she added at the end. Attached was an image of Pompeo in a cage with the American flag behind him.

Jake Sullivan said Al-Qaeda “is on our side in Syria,” but Soleimani crushed the terrorists.
Iraq’s Adil Abdul Mahdi said he & dad were to meet that morning to explore regional de-escalation.

Her message was echoed by a Twitter account associated with the Iranian government. Its post, which tagged Zainab Soleimani, was in Arabic and claimed her father was a “martyr.” The imagery on that tweet reportedly showed Pompeo “with crosshairs on his head and flames coming from below,” though it appears to have been since deleted.
An unnamed source close to Pompeo chalked up the threat to his patriotic actions while in office. “Mike took action as Secretary of State to save American lives and protect American interests, and Iranians are actively looking to respond to the actions against Soleimani.”
President Joe Biden’s State Department warned that there would be “severe consequences” if there was a legitimate attempt on the lives of any current or former official. Of course, Biden has used that empty phrase before when he threatened Russian President Vladimir Putin not to invade Ukraine, ABC News reported at the time.
If our enemies are enraged, that means the government is doing something right. However, the public servants who are their target deserve protection and support from the current administration — and based on Biden’s previous record with Putin and others, it seems the current administration is incapable.
