Hunter Biden's legal team takes a massive hit after prominent attorney leaves

Prominent attorney Joshua Levy has walked away from Hunter Biden's defense team because of "unease and dissent" in the ranks, Breitbart reported.  The son of President Joe Biden is facing several probes, including charges of wire fraud and tax violations.

A Wednesday report said that Levy stepped down from the team, consisting of at least four attorneys, due to disagreements over legal strategies. Levy was a recommendation from Bob Bauer, Joe Biden's personal attorney, indicating this could be a significant loss.

Levy was particularly upset by the addition of attorney Abbe Lowell to the team in December. Lowell has extensive experience with embroiled high-profile figures and has previously represented former President Bill Clinton and former President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

However, Levy believed that Lowell's defense tactics would not be successful. The younger Biden is facing money laundering, tax fraud, and other serious charges stemming from records on a laptop abandoned at a Delaware repair shop.

To deflect from this crushing fact, Lowell sent a "litigation hold notice" to Hunter Biden's former business associate Tony Bobulinski, Trump associate Rudy Guiliani, and a dozen others to preserve their records. On the surface, this is meant to hold them to account for possibly targeting Hunter Biden.

“You likely possess information relevant to activities or events affecting Mr. Biden," one of Lowell's letters said, according to the New York Post. "Therefore, you are required to review and comply with this Notice."

"As part of this process, you are instructed to preserve and safeguard, and must not alter, delete, destroy, or discard, any documents, physical items, or electronically stored information and data you have relating to or concerning Mr. Biden," the letter added. It required recipients to preserve records dating back to 2008.

A spokesperson for Hunter Biden's legal team said the timeline was to "ensure we capture the extensive — and sustained — attacks on the Biden family." It also went on to claim he has "nothing to hide" in an attempt to turn the laptop issue around on those who had access to the data.

"Hunter Biden has spent the last several years being the subject of investigations and exhaustive media scrutiny, while also telling his story in a detailed memoir — he has nothing to hide," the spokesperson claimed. "The people who have yet to be held accountable for their wrongdoing are the recipients of these letters."

However, Mike Davis, president and founder of the Article III Project, said this was not a solid defense strategy. Instead, the head of the pro-Trump organization said the notices were a "desperate, frivolous, and laughable" move.

He believes they will ultimately backfire when Hunter Biden is forced to testify on his behalf anyway. Levy wasn't the only member of the defense team to leave over Lowell's addition.

Lead defense attorney for Hunter Biden, Chris Clark, has also "kept Mr. Lowell at a distance," suggesting the fissure in the team runs deep. This is happening just as the House of Representatives is turning the screws on Hunter Biden.

The GOP claims that the younger Biden's laptop reveals shady business deals with foreign nationals and possible influence peddling, Fox News reported. "If President Biden is compromised by deals with foreign adversaries and they are impacting his decision making, this is a threat to national security," House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said in a statement.

Hunter Biden has slipped the noose for several years because of his powerful father. Now that luck may be ending, as it seems he can't even cobble together a defense team when it matters most.
